Triple-digit temperatures could return to the Chicago area Tuesday as a heat advisory has been issued for the city through 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service reports that the high on Tuesday is expected to reach 100 degrees, while the heat index could hit 110 degrees in Chicago, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The record high for July 16 in Chicago is 100 degrees, a record set in 1887, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
