The Palestinian cabinet condemned Israeli schemes targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holy mosque, whether through digging underneath it or through daily provocative tours by Israeli soldiers in uniform and hard-line settlers, according to a press statement issued by Prime Minister Salam Fayyad’s office.
The cabinet during its weekly meeting today specifically condemned calls by extremist Israelis to destroy the mosque and to allow Jews only to pray in it on certain times while closing it to Muslims, Palestine News Agency 'WAFA' reported.
The statement warned that such intentional incitement campaigns by various Israeli officials against the Mosque and its worshipers might lead to a disaster.
